DYING FETUS - Stop at Nothing cover
http://www.metalmusicarchives.com/album/dying-fetus/stop-at-nothing
It´s pretty great, but I get the feeling that some of the magic from the last two releases, was lost due to the massive lineup change between the predecessor and this one.

Based on the early release songs, this has potential to be their best since ...And Justice For All, so hopefully the full album delivers.

Well, on first listen it seems disappointing but not a total disaster. Basically, the first three singles were misleading and this isn't a full on thrash Metallica resurgence: Instead, most of the album feels like something of a mix between the black album and Load, heavier than the latter but still more laid back like it was. I like it, but it definitely isn't as good as those first three songs made me hope it would be. (Obviously I'll wait until more people have heard it, but personally I think it should be tagged as Trad on our site, but we'll see.)

I'm listening now, so freaking good.  James vocals are brilliant.  Only had one listen but I am fully enjoying it.
Be excellent to each other.

On my third listen now and I like the first four songs a lot as well as Confusion and Spit out the Bone, but the other half of the album is going to need to grow on me some more, because right now those songs are all blending together into one big blur. It's definitely still a solid album, but I need to give it time to see if those weaker songs will grow on me or not.

It's growing on me. I can see it possibly getting up to the level of Death Magnetic, though probably not much better than that. Still, probably the best we can hope for from them at this point, so after the initial disappointment, I think I likely will end up being happy with this album after all.

I hope you're right about that! I gave up on Metallica long ago. I just don't care anymore. There are too many OTHER great musical treats. However i welcome a thoroughhly enjoyable album with open arms. The one sample track i've heard DOES sound promising but i wont' surrender until i've heard the album :)
