I think this and No Sign of Glory are the two best Running Wild albums since Black Hand Inn..... Oh wait, wrong band, lol! (Seriously, though, no offense to the real Running Wild who actually made a great album this year, but these guys are the closest we'll get to hearing new albums in the classic style, I think.)
Scratch that: I think I like this even more than Black Hand Inn! It's the first album with this sound that I'd easily give 5 stars, I think.

Just as the cover is cheesy but awesome in a way that fits the band perfectly, the album on the whole is pretty much a perfect summary of the band's career. The song "Ghost Ballet" is a bit weird (though it's already growing on me after two listens) but everything else is on about the same level as Beyond, so it's already looking like one their best.
Doing some revisits before I write my review or their new one.
I never liked this one as much as The Wanderer at the time and it's still sitting on the edge of a high 3.5/low 4.0 on my current rating scale, which is also where the new one is actually. I actually think the new one is less adventurous in style than this one and feels like they've mostly played it safe within their genre, but I also feel it's the most consistent release of the two because of that.
It's been so long since I played this one that I don't remember anything specific about it now, but looking at the RYM genres I'm expecting something much more varied than either Argia or Dirge For The Archons.
