A couple of albums by the proggy mathcore band Torrential Downpour. Really like this band.

Nice! How are you liking it? I know a lot of people aren't too into it, but I think it's fantastic. It might be more simplistic, but the post-metal elements and emotional weight make it a really good record in my eyes (or ears, I guess)

I´ve only given it a couple of listens, and I´m a bit biased right now. The clean vocals Work pretty well I guess, and I don´t mind the more "simple" songwriting approach either, but many of the tracks just haven´t settled yet. I´ll keep off writing my review until they do.

I've not bought any Melvins for a while. How's the new release?

Just finished the second album by deathcore Belgians Everyone Dies Alone

EVERYONE DIES ALONE - Piece cover

And now on this oldie that I haven't heard in ages -

NAZARETH - Razamanaz cover

^Well...Melvins are always a bit of hit and miss on album (They rule on stage though...always), and I didn´t enjoy this 2016 album much:
MELVINS - Three Men and a Baby cover
But Basses Loaded is pretty great. I can recommend a purchase:
MELVINS - Basses Loaded cover

The opening track "The Decay of Lying" is a bit of a gem to my ears. They played it live when I saw Melvins last month too, and it was even greater then Clap

I've written my Reviewer's Challenge review already, but one final spin before posting is in order I think.

^ I've listened to it several times the last few days. My review is as done as its ever going to be. It hasn't been an easy one for me to write.

Finally started my review. I can already tell it's going to be something special, considering I'm four paragraphs, over 600 words in, and still haven't even begun what I know will be a massive song by song section. This probably is going to be my longest review ever, as it should be, since it's my favorite album I've ever reviewed (to review my favorite album of all would probably turn into a novel, or something.)

I still need to give it another listen before I start my review, but what is your favorite album of all time? I couldn't pick one, too many favorites. LOL

My favorite of all time is The Human Equation by Ayreon. Though this album comes closer to passing it each time I hear it.

Just finished my first draft, and since I'm not known to cut much if anything out during editing, its current word count should be close to the final total: 2429! About what I expected, tbh, and it is in fact my longest by nearly 500 words. I obviously did ramble on a lot, but I don't think I was ever going to write a concise review for this album anyway, so I decided I may as well just go all out and fully indulge myself, for this special occasion. At the very least, it gives me an excuse to keep shortening up my newer reviews, because I can probably never outdo this one in length, unless I do one day review The Human Equation. God, I can't even begin to imagine how long that review would be. It probably wouldn't be publishable, tbh.

I'd get a shift on Khaliq, the posting for the Challenge starts tomorrow (you're scheduled for the 17th unless you want to swap with someone from Group 3).
