I have yet to hear Sacramentum, but I´ve always heard them described as a blatant Dissection clone (which isn´t necessarily a bad thing). Is that true?

I couldn't tell you Jonas. I haven't tried out Dissection yet. They're on the check out list. Dissection are usually described as melodic black with melodic death metal influences though, whereas Far Away from the Sun is pure melodic black metal. It's not unlikely though as Dissection pretty much started melodic black metal and this only came out a few years after The Somberlain, so perhaps a massive influence is to be expected.

Yeah Dissection certainly is a hugely influential act, and definitely worth checking out. Not my personal favorite poison, but undeniably an act with a lot of quality output.

It always takes me a few listens to really appreciate anything with John Arch singing, but I definitely think that both this and the next one are essentials for both USPM and 80's progressive metal.

I loved this on first listen, the riffs and vocals are great. John Arch reminds me a bit of a mix between Geoff Tate and Bruce Dickinson. Definitely going to be listening to the next album later.

I picked up both albums together some time back and at first I preferred Spectre, but Awaken the Guardian has since overtaken it.

^Damn. The Spectre Within, Awaken the Guardian, and No Exit is definitely a trilogy of power metal masterpieces.
