^How is it? I've heard it's a bit more pop-oriented.

The new Coheed is awesome, as always. I wouldn't say it's more pop oriented, though it's definitely a bit softer compared to their previous albums.

Great album, my favorite from them along with Nightmare.

Now:

It's definitely sounding like Testament meets Anthrax.

I really enjoy City of Evil too. I´m not a huge fan of their other releases (Nightmare is pretty good too though), but this one is something very special to my ears.

Regarding Airdash it´s been 1½ years since I wrote the review and I haven´t listened to the album since, so I just have to trust what I wrote back then LOL. From what you write it sounds like I wasn´t completely wrong Big smile

MY DYING BRIDE - Feel the Misery cover
http://www.metalmusicarchives.com/album/my-dying-bride/feel-the-misery
Still trying to wrap my head around this one. My Dying Bride´s releases always takes many spins to fully grasp. Even though it´s pretty slow doom metal there´s always a lot going on in each track and the song structures are often rather unconventional. I still think Jeff and I were right when we added them to PA.

Yup, I think the new one might very well be my favorite from them. Although that's certainly not easy to say when they have so many great albums.

Again. Liking this slightly more than their last one, which was already pretty good. I'm not as sure about their placement, anymore, though: The thing is, to me it does sound like alternative metal, but on this album in particular they sound extremely similar to Avenged Sevenfold at times, and while I have a hard time seeing them as trad, that's what they're generally considered at this point. So I have my doubts about how this one should be tagged. I have pretty much the same thoughts on the new Trivium, actually,  in that it sounds like alt to me, but it's generally being considered as trad, when to me it sounds way too modern for that.

That wasn't our most popular decision as members of the Prog Metal Team (not by a longshot LOL), but I've always found that their music is progressive in attitude and often execution. Good to hear that they've kept mentality this time around. Thumbs Up
