I actually have promo access for that album, though someone else on my site is reviewing it, but I streamed it once just as a sneak preview. I'd honestly say, there were maybe 3-4 songs I really liked (especially Seven-Headed Whore and Clear the Way), and the rest seemed kinda Iced Earth by the numbers. Not nearly enough power/thrash, imo.
Giving this a second go. On first listen it wasn't too impressive, and I think the singer is getting on my nerves more than he ever did on the debut.

That's disappointing to hear, Travis. I'm still hyped for it though because I love all four of the pre-release tracks. I wasn't sold on Raven King at first but it's grown on me a lot with more listens. They have done some very similar songs to it before it's true (but the same is true of tracks like Seven-Head Whore), but I've come to rank it right up there with earlier classic's in that style.
