Finished up a run of Coroner..it's weird but I could've sworn I enjoyed them a fair bit more in the past! Ah well! On to these guys:

I've little to no interest in most of Katatonia's work, but I've been meaning to check out these early death-doom releases for a while.
I like their mid-period albums the most. Especially "Last Fair Deal Gone Down (2001)" and "Viva Emptiness (2003)"

I´m actually no as fond of Coroner now as I used to be either, but No More Color is still a masterpiece in my book.

I've really been in the mood for late 60's/early 70's rock and metal lately, so listening to a bit of Steppenwolf right now:

I'm not really huge on the vocals, but the music itself is excellent!

I'm feeling very positive about it. Even the RYM average is decent this time, so I know I'm not the only one.
It's a bit different to M. Musically it feels a lot more polished and dare I say focused? Loved M but I can hear a difference for sure. It's not as metal though, because she's played up her dark folk side more this time. For my money that works, so I'm not bothered by it. There are also some quite strong doom metal influences this time as well the atmospheric black metal. She uses her growls even less than ever before.

^Sounds good, I'll have to check it out when I get in the mood to listen to a new album. I've been on a early hard rock and metal kick.

I recently just bought all the early BUDGIE albums. Just heard this one like a week ago. I'm really impressed with some of them actually. Great early heavy rock
