Fourth listen for both. They're both looking great, though the Epica album is definitely the better of the two.

Brilliant...the last one was great too, but I think they´ve raised the bar with this one. It´s nicely melodic but pretty heavy too. Alder is a godly vocalist and Again delivers a passionate performance. This one will end high on my year end list.
Great album, which grows on each new listen. I think they´re more melodic here than on the last couple of releases, and it´s a part of their sound I´ve missed since Parallels/Inside Out, so I´m really happy with this Development. It´s still very different from those two releases though, as it´s a really heavy album too. So there´s a good balance between the melodic and accessible and the heavy and progressive. Right now I´m thinking this is a 5 star release, but I need to give it more spins before I decide.

Yeah, this one isn't happening for me. A damn shame since I usually like Grave Digger, but there's a mental block not allowing me to enjoy it, plus even musically Fanatic Assassins is just a terrible song, I think. Already switched to this one:

Yeah I love how hardcore influenced it actually is. Great with riot gang vocals Clap
 
The piggy squeals aren´t pleasant but they are thankfully few and far between. That´s the only minor issue with the album. Otherwise I´m very impressed, and it´s IMO by far their best release to date.
