First impression: Awesome! It could very well be their best since The Inner Circle. It's certainly their most upbeat album since Recreation Day, and probably their first one in a while that I think could have power metal as a secondary genre on RYM.
Out of the job lot of six albums I got for £10 on ebay, this one seems to be the gem of the bunch. Though I'm pretty sure I've seen this picture as the cover for at least two other albums.

I've just read this album is supposed to be released September 9. How come you are listening to it late July?
I'm not that excited by a new Evergrey to be honest. The last one was hyped up so much and while it was one of the better newer ones from them I didn't think it was anything that special. I will listen to it eventually of course, but I don't have any great expectations from it.
The new Epica though I'm much more interested in, especially after hearing the single.

I got a promo copy, for review purposes. That's also how I have the new Epica, despite it not being out for a full 2 months.

I wouldn't know about Epica (in fact I don't care at all), but it intrigued me a bit about Evergrey.
I'm looking forward to listening to it, in September I guess
