not very impressed with this one, I've heard better, much better from these guys.

What didn't you like about it? I love it, one of my favorite albums.

It did not click with me, quite a pissed-off album for Helstar, they usually know how to balance things (heavyness, melody & skill), but this one is just thrashy. It's good, no doubt about it, but like I said, I've heard better from Helstar.
This Wicked Nest  was one of my favorite albums from 2014.

This Wicked Nest was my AOTY 2014, and also one of Helstar's best so far imo. I get how Glory of Chaos could be a bit too intense for some, I know it was for me back when I first heard it. As my tastes expanded I grew to love it, as I love intense music a lot more than I used to. I love all of Helstar's albums though, as they're up there with my favorite bands. Smile

I´ve had different opinions on this album over the years. I used to love it, then I had several years where I didn´t enjoy it that much, but when I did my rewrite of my old review about a year back I found it pretty great Again.

As far as I remember they got increasingly more interesting on every release until their 5th or 6th album. They´ve just been announced on Copenhell 2016, so I´ll be seeing them for the third time in June. It´s generally not my kind of poison though.
