Honestly, this wouldn't be much worse than Mechanize if they were to remove the wastes of time that are the last two tracks, and replace them with actual songs. As is, it starts off great and stays great through to track 8, and then it just fades. Granted, Mechanize has a fade out as well, but in that case it comes at the end of an amazing closing track, where on this album it seems like they just ran out of songs too early, or something. |
Mechanize is a great album indeed, and I agree with your opinion on The Industrialist too. Some great tracks but too much filler. I´m personally a bit put off by the programmed drums too, but maybe that´s not an issue to you? |
I used to love Fear Factory when I was younger, can't stand them now.

They were quite the revolutionary band when they started out (and for the first couple of albums they continuted to be). I saw them on the tour supporting "Soul of a New Machine", and they were indeed something very different from what the norm was in those days on the extreme metal scene. Seing Cannibal Corpse (WHO headlined the concert) after FF´s show just wasn´t the same.

Soul Of A New Machine - Demanufacture and the later released (unreleased album) Concrete are incredible. I just can't listen to them anymore.
