^It leaked. I didn't like their only other album I tried (The Sham Mirrors,) but I'm a fan of ICS Vortex, so I'll probably try the new album later.

I thought Sham Mirrors was a pretty solid release, but each to their own and all that.

I managed to get through the first song....just.  I don't think I'm in the mood for Arcturus, I'll revisit.

Meshuggah - I Ep

Halfway through so far, and...... I like it. The production is kinda strange, but musically it's very interesting, and ICS Vortex sounds great as always (though there seem to be some weird effects going on with his voice.)

I´m a huge fan of this hardcore punk album. Great energy, great aggression, badass attitude, and great silly humour.

Hmm...RYM actually tags them Hardcore punk, crossover thrash. Maybe they have a shot at being here...

Not heard this one Jonas but it made me smile as I used to have Here Today Guano Tomorrow on vinyl back in the day. Never replaced the album when I flogged my LPs. I probably never found it at a decent price. I do recall the album being pretty metal.

So what do you reckon (as you've heard them more recently)? H&C, thrash or both?

I sometimes regret giving out five stars a few months down the line, but that definitely isn't happening with this one.

Well look at it this way, I've started (slowly) changing my 2014 review scores to be more in line with my new system I started using this year, which will probably see half a star knocked off a few scores along the way. That won't be happening with that album. It may even end up knocking Anubis Gate's latest from its top perch on my 2014 list, though I must say the more I listen to it I may have sold the new Cruachan album short with a 4.5, it's clearly a superior work to all but their Folk-Lore album to me (and I currently have a 5 on their debut, which would be a 4.5 on my new rating system), so some reviews may get a score increase as well.
