I know opinions are divided on Sacred Reich, but to me "The American Way" is an absolute thrash metal Classic.

Took another listen to this one last night, and wrote a review...and yes I still enjoy it quite a bit.

Me too, haven't decided if I prefer this or the debut yet though. Both are quality tech/prog death metal records.

Gave it one final listen before writing my review, which came out much harsher than I had planned (I made it seem like a 5 or 6/10 at best, when I gave it a 7 using the rating system of the site I do my reviews for.) I guess I just have much higher standards for bands like Kamelot, at this point.

I think it´s fair to be critical of a release and still give it a decent rating. I do it all the time. Just because you´re critical of something doesn´t mean you can´t hear that it´s overall a quality release. I don´t see the need to give out low ratings unless it´s something that´s obviously of a really bad quality. I sometimes fall into the trap of giving a very low rating because I´m listening to something which I personally can´t stand, but most of the time I try to keep a more objective distance, which is what I think most readers would like to read. I seldom meet people who thinks that reviewers bashing and giving low ratings to releases which are widely considered good quality releases are to be taken serious.
