More of a grower IMO but having given it a few spins I'd say it's about on par. I'm putting finishing touches to a review right now. There's one bit I don't like which is a screaming section in the song Children of Red but otherwise everything is excellent. The main difference in the music is that Utopia is quite symphonic whereas Chain Reaction isn't.

Thanks Adam. I'll wait to read your review before shelling out then!

It'll be up on my site tomorrow, and then on MMA two weeks later.

Though I can assure you that if you liked the first one your money will not be wasted.

Just finished:

This one sounds more like Running Wild than Running Wild do these days.

So it´s not an issue to you, that they´ve practically ripped off riffs and ideas, from artists like Metallica, Megadeth and AC/DC on this particular release? I don´t know if you´ve read Rob Flynn´s rant on this album, but I think he is pretty much spot on.

To my ears they´ve released some pretty decent albums and one really, really great one (City of Evil), but this one is a step down in compositional quality and playing (the new drummer plays pretty standard simple beats compared to the powerful drumming by The Rev), and I am overall pretty disappointed about it.

I agree they did rip-off Guns 'n' Roses(Doing Time) and Metallica(This Means War), but I still think it's a pretty good album.
