I saw Def Leppard on the Hysteria tour.  Pyromania was one of the first two rock LPs that I owned; the other was Quiet Riot's Metal Health.  Really they are pop metal/hard rock/AOR.  They are one of the bands that I "cut my teeth" on, however, so along with Pyromania and Hysteria, I have Nostalgia.

I like High 'n' Dry and On Through the Night but anything after those two, I can't get into.

Saw Def Lep live at Reading Festival in the UK in 1980 before a mainly Metal audience. They were boo'ed and had everything from bottles and cans to chunks of turf thrown at them. I quite liked the first single and OTTN was decent but I wouldn't consider anything else they have produced as Metal. Not knocking them as my Mrs likes them so I know all their stuff and saw them again possibly on the Hysteria tour when they were very professional & polished but bored me. It was the tour with the round revolving stage and about a third of the audience were female which was unusual in the UK.

Only OTTN, High n' Dry was ok but Mutt Lange's influence was exactly what you heard from then on.

But then who am I to say as they sold a bucket full of records and are millionaires and I'm not but is it Metal?

I never saw anyone with their name on their "cut off" in the early days.

Standard caveat that its my opinion only Big smile

^Sounds like a nice bet...Ive heard it should be somewhat rooted in old school heavy metal, speed and thrash, so you might like it more than you expectLOL.

No, your eyes do not deceive you. I am actually listening to Darkthrone.

A mate has persuaded me to buy this on the basis he will buy me a crate of beers if I don't like it.

I almost died laughing when he first suggested it to me but its here so here we go:
