I was trying to submit a review of the last Priestess album, and saw they were not on Metal Music Archives.

Well....!  I strongly suggest they are added.  One of the cool newer bands out of Canada the last few years.  Here is their myspace:  www.myspace.com/priestessband

In order for a genre team to take up your suggestion, you should be so kind as to tell us which you think the best genre would be for the band. Unfortunately, I am not familiar with them, so I cannot help here.

to be honest, not sure if they fit into any of the sub genres you have.  they are a straight up hard rock / heavy metal band.  think Black Sabbath, Maiden, Deep Purple, or newer bands like Wolfmother, Baroness.

on our download site, it went under "Hard Rock".  The new album is quite heavy though, so "Heavy Metal" would do it.

let me know!

Unfortunately, at present we have decided to put on hold the addition of any bands that might fit better under Hard Rock, in order to avoid any possible controversy. Anyway, when I have some time, I (and hopefully someone else too) will listen to the MySpace tracks, so that I get an idea of their sound, and see if they might fit some of the existing subgenres.

I just listened to their tracks on MySpace, and to me, they seem suitable for traditional heavy metal.

I think it would be a good idea if the Trad HM team had a listen to those songs, so that we get a third opinion. I'll post a link in their team thread.

Good newsSmile! The Trad team gave them the thumbs-up, and now it's just a question of taking care of the actual addition.

Thanks for letting us know about this band, LoudTrax - I think they're great and hope to buy some of their albums in the near future.
