Hi Folks,
Been a long time to contribute. There was a funny thing that happened on a Linkedin Metal Group, a woman from a "Metal Machining Company" in China thought it was a group dealing with the Industry . But a few of the members tried to set her straight, I'm sure she was embarrassed or just didnt get it . A member then suggested, "Its all about the music... If you want to talk metal like Loudness, please continue... " . So that got me thinking about the "Oriental Metal" Thread that went up earlier in the year, but it seems it was taken down because it was having some clitches with the last pages. Edit: nope, here it is . . . http://www.metalmusicarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=403&PN=1 . . . well lets Resurrect the damn thing! Add your fave Asian, Persian/Orient, Middle Eastern Bands to show that Metal is truly International and there is just about no corner of the World safe from its domination! Note: I think the original idea was to have these Asian musics, include a bit of their "Indigenous" sounds (i.e. Folk influence and Instruments of their native countries) but I think it be a great way to expose all Metal from these lands.
Orphaned Land (from Israel): Myrath (from Tunisia): Loudness (Japan): (This is from 1983 - One of the 1st bands to create "Speed Metal" (1981) along with Exciter, Savatage, and Accept before Metallica released "Kill 'em All (May 1983). Dead End (Japan): (This may have been "thee" band to give a "Voice" for most Japan male vocalists with this style of singing for the next few decades. Only Dead End may have been the 1st "Prog Metal" band having a sort-of Queensryche vibe). S.O.B. (Japan): Tracks Starting from 1986! These guys broke the mold! Get ready to be POUNDED by Zero's dropping Torpedoes down your throat!. Tang Dynasty (China): I only learned about these guys a few years ago from the Doc "Global Metal", they are still making albums as well . . . Some cool YOUtube compilations: . . . more to come! Please add more folks . Edited by MAVIIIVAM - 19 Jul 2012 at 3:01am |

This was my last post that I thankfully saved . . . This thread was a little neglected as we are all probably being exposed to more bands from the Orient and Middle East. But after I was looking more into this excellent band "Escher's Knot" . . . I came across these compilations of various Indian/Hindi Bands, some of them sound super interesting . . . (Look at the details below Vids as they have Names of Bands and their sites): You can imagine most of these guys are probably on a shoestring budget yet keeping the Metal scene alive and growing, so more METAL FISTS to them and I hope their industry grows. Heres some more discoveries . . . Israeli Metal: More . . . Narjahanam from Bahrain Iran: (what a gorgeous Logo) Sand Aura from Egypt: Al-Namrood from Saudi Arabia: Folk Metal from . . . Afghanastan! Al Qaynah: Shangren (not quite sure theyre from China but influenced): ChthoniC (from Taiwan): (pronounced "Sonic"), I have a "Best Of", seems they are becoming more streamlined from their Black Metal days). How can this woman be soo damn CUTE and be soo BRUTAL! Arkan (from France with Middle Eastern influences indigenous to the band members). From 2011 (I need to get this): Live (love watching the Female singer dance :): . . . . start your trip down the Orient Express and across Deserts sands . Correction! The woman in the Interview: Doris Yeh, is NOT the Lead Vocalist, but the Bass and Backing Vocalist. Actually the Lead is Male (Freddy Lim) . . . oops . Edited by MAVIIIVAM - 16 Jun 2012 at 4:39pm |

Melechesh are actually one of my favorite Death metal bands . Melechesh in particular have a folk-influenced sound and their themes are largely from Mesopotamian mythology.
Yeah OK so their Blackened Death. |

One of our favorite events to do as a family in Highlands Ranch. This year there is going to be a Caribbean band Pan Jumbies led by an acclaimed steelpan artist!

ChthoniC is sweet, imo. There's a lesser-known band called Suffocation that is good too. I went shopping at the guitarist's instrument shop in Beijing. 他们棒极了!
