We all have them - bands who's first album was so good that you couldn't help but salivate over it, and then the next release comes in and you are utterly disappointed. What are some bands like this, in your opinion?

The band, for me, that immediately springs to mind are Pearl Jam.

I absolutely adored "Ten" and it is still one of my favourite albums. The side project Mother Love Bone and "supergroup" tribute to the late Andrew Wood, Temple Of The Dog are also up there in my all time list.

I don't necessarily believe they should have called it quits but I just cannot get into any other of their albums. No matter how hard I have tried. IMO their pinnacle was their debut by far.

^I thought something along those lines as well, but then out came Backspacer, which I like even more.

Right now I can't think of a band that fits here.

^Hope you like it Thumbs Up It's a relatively light rock record with a couple of really beautiful songs. One of those 35 minute albums you want to put on again straight away.
