Two legends of american death metal. Both bands were created in the same year (1988), both have strong and devoted fanbase and both have unique, disturbing atmosphere. Which one is better? Honestly, I can't decide.

Immolation.  I get really into their riffs when I fantasize of being part of a militia marching towards the Vatican with automatic weapons and torches. 
Seriously, this sounds like hell.


 I also think Rob Vigna is a more talented guitarist than Chuck Schuldiner.

^ yeah, this is hellish! Immolation definitely put a bit more emphasis on atmosphere than Suffocation.

Immolation for me. I simply enjoy more of their albums than Suffocation�s ditto. Pierced From Within is a favorite of mine though, so I like Suffocation too.

Suffocation. Both Great bands, but Suffocation's brutality is awesome. Immolation's atmosphere is indeed hellish. Both greatlive bands btw.
