Windrider is a folk metal from England. They started in 2008, and released one Ep and one Full Lenght.
Myspace: http://www.myspace.com/windridermetal Video: Sort of bio: Windrider began its life as the home studio project of seventeen year old Elliot Vernon in 2008. After a number of small demos and individual songs, Windrider eventually found its own sound and the debut EP was released in April 2009. Critically acclaimed by the underground folk and Viking metal scene, 'Muspelheim' brought Elliot's music to new heights and popularity. The demand to see the music performed live prompted the creation of a live line-up, and Windrider first came to the stage in October 2009. Elliot began writing and recording the follow-up to Muspelheim, Windrider's debut album 'To New Lands...' towards the end of 2009, and the album was released in March 2010. After line-up changes, Windrider are now more confident than ever and are rehearsing the new material for live shows in 2010! |

Ok I will have to check out some more songs before addition but that one linked is more symphonic metal. I can only hear a very minor folk element in that.
I noticed that the full-length is free to download on Last.fm so I've grabbed it and will give it a listen since that linked song was pretty good. If I find more folk in it overall that's where I'll add them, if not, symphonic will take them. I'll add them when I've listened to the album either way, and post here when done.

Added, but to Symphonic.
Upon listening to the album I was of two minds but the music is more symphonic than folk, and it's symphonic folk when it is folk. Anyway, MB will import now and the entry will be done up after that. Thanks for the suggestion! An admin will now lock this thread.
