I also like supporting my local music store so I try to get all my music from there when possible.
I am a poor kid though, and impatient with music collecting, so I will probably go to online to start.

Most were purchased really cheap in second hand stores, fleemarkets and such. My full Dire Straits vinyl collection cost me less than 100 kr. ( about $20).
