So the hair metal/glam metal playlist was driving me nuts. I've just started creating a thrash one as well. Gonna maybe alternate for a bit.

Yeah, that album surprised me. I thought it would be a bit insipid and poppy, but there's some gnarly edges there. Anyway, onto this little gem:

^I can´t get enough of "Live Undead". It may just be a live in the studio recording with a few friends attedning and screaming like they are a bigger audience, but there is such a great energy on this album and the versions here are for the most part better than the studio versions. I still remember the day and the place where I purchased my first vinyl copy of the album. I was 13 years old and my grandma had just died, so we went to the other end of the country (which really isn´t that far as Denmark is a very small country), to fix her affairs and attend the funeral. While my parents cleared my grandma´s apartment, me and my brother were given a few bucks and told to go spend them (and I purchased "Live Undead". So every time I listen to "Live Undead" I think of my sweet old grandma .

One of my favourite memories of it is that one of my friends used my walkman to entertain her preschool-aged grandson. She didn't care what tape was in it, because just having the walkman headphones on was enough to distract him. He loved it.
And according to the book I just finished, Winger still have a massive chip on their collective shoulders because of the Beavis and Butthead thing. Apparently they were accomplished prog rock session musicians before forming the band, and thought they deserved more respect than they got. Some less shit songs might have helped...

^Classic Danish hard rock album. We don´t have many of those and DAD are still one of the most commercially succesful Danish hard rock artists. I like the two preceding cow rock albums too, and of course the next album, but from then on I´m not that interested in their music.
