I don't normally post the lists I've sourced from articles here, but this one may be of interest to Ashley especially: https://www.listchallenges.com/the-guardian-every-studio-ghibli-film-ranked

Bloody weird ranking from The Guardian of these if you ask me.

That's not bloody weird.

It's bloody ridiculous.

I'm of the opinion that there are no outright bad Ghibli movies, but there are excellent Ghibli movies and Ghibli movies that are merely okay. Porco Rosso last is laughable and even more laughable is putting Tales From Earthsea in the top 10.

Most Ghibli fans would say Tales From Earthsea is the weakest movie. Maybe Ocean Waves. Very few would put either one of them in or close to the top 10. A really bizzare ranking.

22/22, on the List Challenge, obviously.

I have lower opinions of those two, but I still liked to to an extent. They aren't priority to add to my physical collection like others are (Porco Rosso most of all), though I would like the whole set on blu-ray eventually. I have 14 of them so far.

One of these days I'm going to re-watch every one of them in release order as a massive binge.

I've seen 41/50 of those. There's some great films there for you Nicole when you get chance to watch them.

I'm only missing 3 on this: The Wages of Fear (seen the remake Sorcerer), Godzilla and The Apartment. The latter is the only one that is in genre that isn't strictly 'me' but it's a Billy Wilder so I'd probably watch it given the chance. There's a lot of my top old films here that I really hope you'll enjoy Nicole. As I commented on my List Challenges themed subreddit, there's not one movie you've put here I've seen that I wouldn't recommend to some extent.

I may have picked a few up off of that. I record movies off the live TV regularly but as we only have a Humax box we have hardly any HD channels now and some of these stations have a poor picture I find. Plus our main TV's backlight is fucked up and has turned most of the screen tinted blue, which drives me mad when trying to watch a film on it.

https://www.listchallenges.com/all-520-horror-movies-adam-has-seen

I should probably change the frequency of some of my genre lists. Now up to 520 horror. Which means over 20% of all movies I've seen were horror. Can't say I'm surprised because it was once my top genre along with sci-fi, but these days I prefer other genres. I still watch horror regularly though, looking for the rare gem.

I've started to feel like I've been missing out since using List Challenges to be honest. Once upon a time I'd have thought I'd seen a decent amount of films, but I wasn't really comprehending just how much is out there.

Yes, there's still loads I haven't seen that I feel I should. It's the same with music, so much stuff you'd like to hear but it's the time factor.

That's about how I felt when I really got into film, but the result was I spent much less time with both music, gaming and reading.

Coming up with new ideas is getting hard for LC, but hopefully these new lists do well.
