I love In Flames Lunar Strain and Dark Tranqullity's Skydancer, 2 first melodeath albums. I prefer that sound over "modern" melodeath. Can someone recomend me some good albums/bands that played that type of metal?

Heavier than "typical" Swedish melodeath, but it's an essential album IMO. It's not as progressive as their later works either.

Definitely need to listen to this one more, lately I've only been listening to Purgatory Afterglow and Crimson II.

The debut from Necrophobic is rather raw blackened melodic death metal. A classic in the genre:

Unanimated is another of the more obscure melodic death metal acts from Sweden. Im mostly familiar with the debut album "In the Forest of the Dreaming Dead":

Id recommend Amon Amarth too if you like melodic death metal.
