Let me explain this poll: sometimes, the first album doesn't shows the typical sound of a band. Often the artists only find their trademark in the second or even third releases.

So, in this list, I put the debut albums that does not represent, or are very different, from the music that made these band famous. What are your favorites? Please vote and comment!

NOTE: MFKR was once considered the debut of Slipknot

Dream Theater's debut out of these, under-appreciated if you ask me, often disrespected, sometimes forgotten.

I agree about the Dream Theater being better than it's generally rated but i'm voting for In Flames because that debut album is also woefully underrated and my favorite album of their entire career

Metallica. I remember putting it on the turntable and thinking that I’d never heard anything as heavy or like it before.

Probably Metallica from that lot but I enjoy the debut albums from Rush and Slayer as well.

I quite liked Dream Theater's debut at the time but time hasn't been kind IMO. They were still learning how to write songs and tried a bit too hard to be clever which often ended up sounded awkward and disjointed. Their next couple of albums soon highlighted the flaws in the debut.

"Rocka Rolla woman for a Rocka Rolla man. You can take her if you want her, if you think you can"

MFKR, Kill 'em All, and Rush are all great too.
If I say fuck two more times that's forty-six fucks in this fucked up rhyme
