Big sale going on at Metal Odyssey who serve multiple record labels including a favoured label of mine I, Voidhanger. Lots of stuff going for 5 Euro a CD or 10 for vinyl.

^ What a bargain! I never seem to come across anything like that in Charity/second hand shops. Usually full of crap like Cliff Richard's Greatest Hits.

Most of the rest in that was the usual kind of crap so I was quite surprised to find this amongst them. Just goes to show that the second hand CDs are worth looking at. I've actually had some really great finds over the years in them or at car boot sales. I found my copy of Ayreon's Ayreonaunt's Only, which is out of print, at a car boot sale some years ago now.

I tend to ignore them a lot of the time expecting them to be a load of crap but if you don't look you won't find I guess.

I estimate I've had close to a 100 CDs out of charity shops, markets, used music stores and car boot sales over the years.
2024 has been extra good with my haul posted about on the previous page of this thread though. Those don't come around too often. One of two CDs I got in this manner I haven't kept, but most have been excellent finds including some real gems that got me into new bands. You should check out the current sale going at Metal Odyssey as well for some bargains, Paul, before it ends. They're selling a ton of stuff dirt cheap (5 Euro CDs and 10 Euro Vinyls) all of which are brand new. Just got an 18 album haul from them and honestly could have spent more if I'd dared. They ship to UK, not cheaply but a bulk order makes the P&P worth it. |

Cheers Adam, I'll take a look and will make an effort to spend more time looking at charity store cd's next time I'm in one.

Pre-ordered:
https://www.metalmusicarchives.com/album/opeth/the-last-will-and-testament I only ordered the standard jewel case version. The extra content on the CD+blu-ray version didn't seem worth it since I rarely watch documentaries. Shaved a couple of £ off the asking price. Standard rate for a new one right now seems to be around the £13.99 mark although did get the Simone Simons one for £10.99 which seemed low for today's market.

Box set pre-ordered. Sadly unlikely to see them this time. All the gigs clash with my own gigs or are too far away.

Just hoping that my late pre-order is actually going to be in stock... I also picked up their previous one at the same time: Which was in stock, so I should get that one even if the new one is delayed. HMV are usually pretty good about not holding items in an order until all are in stock.
