I would call ? a metal album, also, although I've never heard One before.

LOL Is it the entire religion thing, or the music in general? Sometimes his lyrics can really irk me, but I can always look past it for the great music (IMO). Big smile

Partly the lyrics, but mainly I like neither his voice, nor his songwriting, nor his guitar playing

Shocked

Anyway, on another note, what CCVP said is partly true, but there is a little hint of metal in most of the songs.

well "a little hint of metal" hardly makes him prog metal.  Seeing as how there's no "metal related" category on this site (thank goodness), I think we should stick with the hundreds of thousands of bands that are indisputably metal, ya know?

Yeah, I don't think he's metal at all and I'm a Neal Morse fan.

"?" may be hard rock, leaning towards metal, but Sola Scriptura is definitely metal IMO.

Something like this doesn't strike any of you as metal?

Probably because he's not very much of a guitar player. But that's beside the point, I won't argue with you LOL
Well all have opinions.

But yes, Sola Scriptura is definitely metal.

So as Jeff said before about Porcupine Tree, and how we added them even though only one or two of their albums are metal, why not do it with Neal Morse. Or something along those lines. Tongue

^ I want to get admin approval before this... Something like this could be very controversial. I think I'll start something in the CZ.

okay Jeff, that song is metal I'd say. Not prog metal, though, it sounds more like hair metal :P

Even so, some of his albums definitely would be in the "non-metal" category

Absolutely. I would say to only tag ? and Sola Scriptura as prog metal... the rest is non-metal IMO.

You have three positive votes for inclusion Jeff.

I would say go ahead and add him but following the recent guideline. Ensure the Bio is well written to fully cover why he is here.

Neal Morse has been added using this bio: http://www.metalmusicarchives.com/neal-morse.aspx

Let me know what you guys think of it. Smile

Musicbrainz will sync his albums to non-metal, and then I'll tag ? and Sola Scriptura (and maybe a couple live albums like Sola Scriptura and Beyond or ? Live) as prog metal. Let the aftermath begin. Evil Smile
