A small series of polls as a continuation of Khaliq's earlier series, but featuring the newer child sub-genres. I'm skipping funk because it doens't have a full chart on the genre page yet and also skipping Nu because that sub-genre han't got much in it yet even though it does have the full 12.

So, atmospheric black metal it is!

This is one of my favourite genres and I know all but one of these and the others are all either 4.5 or 5 stars for me. So this is a tough one to vote on. I've decided to go with Phobos Monolith however.

As most of you know, I'm not a fan of atmospheric black metal, so I'm not familiar with many of these. That Spectral Lore album is pretty good though.

Believe it or not I've only heard four of these. Spectral Lore (my vote), the two Mare Cognitum (both very honourable mentions) and Wolves in the Throne Room - Two Hunters (heard it just once).

Phobos Monolith is certainly a current favourite, it really blew me away.

I've only heard 3 of them but it's a genre I'd like to check out more. I'll start with some of these.

I've only NOT heard Spectral Lore and Coldworld. The rest are all great albums but i love the progressive touches added on Blut Aus Nord which is one of my favorites in the black metal category as a whole

Checked out the Drudkh album in this list and its a rare case where I've given out a five stars based on first impressions.

Definitely a masterpiece. I think I'll vote for it as well.

I actually already gave my vote to Spectral Lore but yeah, that one shows the potential to upset that.

Though in truth I'm actually starting to think that Phobos Monolith may be overtaking III in my regards as far as 2014 BM albums go.Both are definitely up there with my all time favourites of the genre though.

Drudkh are excellent overall. Their earlier works are my favourites (Blood in Our Wells being the favourite) so I'd recommend looking into their first two next.
