I'm listening to this album for the first time right now. It's excellent! I think you're right, Adam. I've never heard anything like it. It's kind of a mix of Opeth, Agalloch and some sort of Philharmonic Orchestra with a folk band dropping in from time to time

I just recently bought it on vinyl and love it. I can't really think of anything else like it either. It's more like a classical album with black metal touches than the other way round.
