The current top rated groove metal albums on the site, vote your favorite.

Many of my favorites are here, I'm going to have to think about this for a while.

Surprisingly I know several of these.

It's between Cowboys from Hell and War of Words for me. Cowboys is an old favourite that I don't play near as much these days as I ought to (my CD being buggered up may have something to do with that though) while War of Words is a relatively recent discovery that I've been enjoying a fair bit.

Vulgar Display of Power is very good too of course and I also liked The Great Southern Trendkill too but between the Pantera albums alone there's never been any contest for me. I also had quite the thing for The Blackening at one point but I don't think I've played it in over five years at least.

Difficult choice.

Cowboys followed by Vulgar. The two best Pantera albums, and probably the two best groove metal releases out there (IMO).

^Burn My Eyes is definitely great too, although I didn´t enjoy it much when it came out. It´s actually only in recent years I´ve begun enjoying Machine Head.

"Cowboys from Hell" for me. It's still my favorite Pantera album, and my favorite groove metal album. Sadly, groove metal fizzed out rather quickly, but, for a handful of years in the 90s, it was the shit, man!

Gave my vote to White Zombie, but it could have been Fight, Cowboys From Hell, Ashes of the Wake, or Vulgar Display.

Cowboys From Hell was the first Pantera album I bought and i loved it and played it to death but Vulgar Display Of Power might just have the edge.
