Before Old Mornings Dawn came out, mine was Minas Morgul.

I've only heard Old Mornings Dawn and it didn't do much for me. I've been thinking that I should give this band another go though.

Listened to Stronghold this morning. While I did enjoy it more than I remember doing with Old Mornings Dawn, there is still something about the band's sound that just doesn't click with me.

Summoning was originally black metal, but not much anymore.
The duo has really created a new (sub)genre, made of symphonic, medieval epic and atmospheric elements. It's a genuine soundtrack for Lord of the Rings.
IHMO, one of most original recent metal styles to have emerged...

It's a "love it or hate it" affair.
