20/250 - 8%

I'm not the biggest fan of power metal or progressive metal that is melodic and has clean vocals. My prog either has to be 70s classic era sounding or horribly brutal (I appreciate that might sound strange but sometimes the more melodic progressive metal bands sound a bit too "epic" for me if that makes sense.

Kudos on the list though - I should probably give some of these albums the chance they deserve.

36 (26%) which is probably more than I'd usually expect.

Finally finished this! Today I listened to the 265th album on this list, meaning I could tick off 100%!

58 - seems paltry. However, there were loads I've heard in part but I only included those I've heard in full.

I changed my 'listeners diary' series to be the last 25 albums I played, regardless of timeframe or having heard them before.

Here's the first two entries:

A big fat zero on the last one.

I've embarked on a rather large list type challenge myself but didn't post it here originally due to the fact it's not exclusive to metal. Basically, I picked 50 bands (some familiar to me and some unfamiliar) with the aim of listening to and rating every studio album in each discography by the end of 2023.

Take a look here if at all interested:

It was put together in a bit of a rush and some choices I now regret. I was trying to vary it but since I made it, it's obvious there are far more interesting bands/artists across many genres I could have picked instead. I'll allow a maximum of 3 band swaps if I find any unbearably bad.
