Not strictly a metal one but he is on the site so: https://www.listchallenges.com/neal-morse-discography

Includes his various bands, studio albums only and I hope I didn't miss any of the proper ones between the ton of fan club releases.

It's 17 for me.

Right so since I won't be listening to anything else in June, here's this month's album list. The biggest one this year.

15 for me. I've ignored a lot of his solo stuff but always followed Spock's Beard including after he left.

Something slightly different. Co-interest of MMA and PA I think. Based on a custom RYM chart filtered for my favourite genres only: metal, hard rock and prog rock.

Haven't been through it myself yet.

A new power metal list, though sourced from RYM this time.

I got 105 on this one. Going through the power metal list now, and if I get anything under 50-60%, it's a total fail, LOL

78/250 for me. Not as high as you'd think really, but I often think that BM is one of those genres where the really excellent albums often get ignored or rated lower than generic stuff that's 'kvlt and trve'. Certainly the most important albums historically are ranked high here, not the best ones. At least, that's my take on this top 250.

I will never be able to get behind the idea that Filosofem is the best black metal record of all time. Thumbs Down

I actually like it, but not that much and only when a very particular and very rare mood strikes. There's no way it deserves to be #1. Even #2 is better.

I haven't heard the Bathory album but to be honest none of the rest of the top ten here are that great IMO, except for Ulver and maybe Dissection (I think I played that once and never went back but I do recall liking it). I much prefer Ihsahn solo to Emperor and along with those Darkthrone and the Mayhem album seem to be more like I said before: historical importance over quality. #11 at least is a really cracking BM album.
