Yeah, this ended up being amazing. Obviously, some scenes are sped up, while others are left out entirely, but for the most part they did a great job of including all the really important, plot relevant scenes, even expanding on some stuff, and the original content they added was fantastic (pretty much all of Episode 3 was original, as the game only mentioned that stuff very briefly in a note.) Watching this isn't an exact 1:1 replication of playing the game, but this may be the first videogame to TV (or film) adaptation ever, where I could safely say for people who prefer watching over playing, this is absolutely a worthwhile substitute.

I enjoyed The Last of Us. Never played the game due to console exclusivity. It has finally come to PC now but apparently is an absolute train wreck of a port.
I didn't care for episode 3 though. Not the content itself as a self-contained story but it felt far too early in the show to go deviating and I spent most of the episode (which was one of the longest in the season) wanting to resume the present storyline with Joel and Ellie. It suffered as well from an issue that the seventh season of Fear the Walking Dead does, which I'm currently stumbling through: introduces a new character, who is dead by the end of the episode. I've watched the first ten episodes of Fear season 7 and they have done this three times already. You have just enough time to start to like a character and then boom! They're dead and I'm left wondering what the point was other than filler.

That second thing you mention is more due to the nature of the game, where it is a singular story ultimately, but it's broken down into various sections in different regions, each with new characters showing up. I guess because I already knew what would happen, I was fine with it, but I can see it getting overwhelming over time.
Episode 3 was pretty much entirely original. SPOILERS (for both game and show): In the game, you only hear about Frank from a lore note you find in the area, while Bill is actually alive and helps Joel and Ellie through a brief section of the game. So, yeah, it was mentioned that he was gay in the game, but beyond that, the entire sequence was completely different, and by far the biggest deviation from the game. Episode 7 itself was accurate, except that it was a DLC, separate from the main story. Everything else was pretty much accurate, except with some sections sped up a bit, while others were covered more thoroughly, and they maybe changed a few little plot points here and there (for example, I don't remember David being a preacher or a cannibal, but everything that happened there was familiar.) I was actually surprised by how well the finale nailed its sections, in particular. I'm excited to see how people react to Season 2, now that it's been officially confirmed to follow the story of TLOU2, which is VERY controversial, to say the least. I was somewhere in the middle, in that I loved parts of it, hated parts of it and was kinda mixed overall, so I'm interested in seeing if the show changes my opinions in any way.

Not as good as peak GoT, but certainly better than Seasons 7 and 8 I thought it was really good, overall, but there were some things I didn't like, and the constant time skips really threw me off (I sure hope there's not as much of that in Season 2, lol) Overall, though, it's obviously top notch stuff, and it's great to have something close to GoT back on the air again.

Not as good as the first season, but still great overall. My biggest issue with it is that while both main plots were excellent on their own, they felt largely disconnect from each other, sometimes getting in the way of one another, which was especially disappointing in the finale, where one got a thorough, fully satisfying conclusion, while the other felt horribly rushed. And the one that got rushed is the one I was more interested in, tbh, so that's a bit disappointing, lol

I thought this one was great. Same atmosphere and intrigues as on GoT, and some of the same nasty evil. I liked it.

Weakest season of the three, imo. It still had some great moments, and I did like the story overall, the ending was nice, but the execution was a bit iffy at times: Lots of dumb in-fighting, and characters making unbelievably stupid decisions for the sake of advancing the story, far more so than with previous seasons. I also feel out of the three main characters, one was completely butchered, and another had half a good arc, half a complete total disaster arc, lol (Jessica is the only one of the three I had no issues with by the end of it all.)

Started watching Shadow & Bone. I haven´t read the books, so I only have the tv-series as a reference, but so far it looks like promising Fantasy. I like the fact that it´s not for kids. Well at least kids under a certain age. People die in some pretty horrific ways.

It's been a while since a MCU show was on but finally this first aired today:
The long awaited return of Nick Fury, but it looks like he's seen better days. Good first episode with quite a surprising death in the final moments, given that the character was slated to appear in an upcoming film that presumably takes place after this series unless it's a flashback appearance or they've royally screwed up the timeline of releases for Phase 5.

I´ve contemplated watching this, but I´m thinking it´s just more of the same (as Vikings, which I loved, but was glad when it stopped)...can you elaborate on if that´s true?

Didn’t know a new series was out. I’ll add it to my long list of need to watch. New Witcher is out too.
Also watching Secret Invasion. Not sure I get the lukewarm critic responses. I really enjoyed the first two episodes. |

I got caught up with Secret Invasion tonight, after watching the first episode right away, then completely missing it last week because I was busy. I thought the first two episodes were solid, if not particularly great, but this week's episode was a massive letdown. Lots of cringey MCU "humor" that doesn't fit in at all when the series is supposed to have a more serious tone, and all the so-called "twists" were so damn predictable I saw them coming a mile away.
Not sure if this is the sign of another burnout phase, or if this series is just bad, but either way, I'm not impressed, lol

Just finished watching Westworld season 4. The first three seasons were really good, but I didn´t enjoy season 4 much, and I understand why it was cancelled.

Mixed feelings on the first part of season 3 of The Witcher. Won't write any spoilers here for those who aren't up to date with it but I think they have fucked up multiple characters in this show and more so in season 3.
