Two great progressive bands. I've voted for BTBM as slightly more progressive and marginally prefer them myself over PTH, although have pretty much everything both have released.

Some great progressive metalcore bands out there, although Between is more mainstream prog metal these days.

Neither of them are all that progressive imo. BTBM is a bit more progressive than PTH, though. PTH did do the novel "release a track each month" thing, but Kanye West did something very similar six years ago.

Not a fan of either band though, personally.

"Prog" does not really equal "progressive." That's a common distinction made on ProgArchives if you're ever there. The amount of throwback prog bands that don't progress music at all proves that. That said, my statement about these bands may have been premature. They may be doing something that hasn't been done with their respective genres (though metalcore band Converge's math-y rhythms, dissonance, and long track lengths have been there since 2001, just sayin'), but I do find both bands a bit generic in production style and in the way they incorporate prog elements.

BTBM is usually considered more progressive.
However in terms of quality, Hero has the higher ground.
