I think this pretty fun, this bluegrass band mashed up Metallica's Harvester of Sorrow with bluegrass classic Man of Constant Sorrow (you may recognise it from the Coen Brothers film O Brother Where Art Thou?). They call their music 'thrash grass' for their aggressive take on the bluegrass genre.

Went to see Left to Die + Incantation last night. Ooold school death metal party. I loved it. I hadn´t seen Incantation before...just never got the chance, but I saw Left to Die last year, but it was a smaller venue then and the sound quality wasn´t as great as it was yesterday. Nice gig, that´s for sure.

This quite bizarre. I just received a promo, on CD no less, in the post from an artist and label I've never even heard of, much less requested.
I haven't dealt with promos for years now and even when I did I think the total I was given on disc amounted to no more than two. I shouldn't complain, free music and all which isn't even out yet, but I'm kind of weirded out where they got not only my name from, but also my home address.

Could be an agent that's sent you stuff for other bands previously?
So, are they any good?

As I said, I've only ever had something like two physical promos sent. Both came from unsigned bands. Neither has musicians that are involved in this. It's also been 12 years. There's one track on Bandcamp from the artist. |

Yeah that really is odd Adam. Like you I´ve received very few physical promos (a bit more than two though) through the years, and it´s now been quite a few years since I stopped writing reviews of digital promos, so I would be weirded out too if someone decided to send me something.

I don´t know how the full albums sounds, but the track on Bandcamp is decent enough. It´s not really my poison, and if it wasn´t a promo send to me, I´d probably not spend much time listening or writing about it, but it´s not bad quality music.

I just stuck it on and am on track 2.
I'm not sure I'll review it; I tend to only write for favourites these days but I guess the least I can do is add it to MMA.

Ah, the days of promo CDs...
Used to get a shitload of awful pop music ones when I worked for the paper. One I got was a CD-r with a lino print cover by a band called Phoenix Foundation. I fucking hated it! It sounded like rehashed U2 songs, and I absolutely savaged it in my review. Yeah, they went on to be one of New Zealand's most successful bands... It proves I know fuck all about mainstream music. I managed to sell the promo/demo for about 20 bucks.

Soon I´l drive to an away game where my football team will play the first (and hopefully the first of many) cup games this season. We´ve started out a bit bad in the Danish League only winning a game in the seventh game of the season (which was last Friday), but in the team´s excuse they´ve met a lot of the major clubs in Denmark during those seven games, and we are as always favorites to be relegated...but this now our third season in a row in the best league in Denmark, so who knows...maybe we´ll survive again. But tonight it´s all about the cup and we´re meeting one of the oldest clubs in Denmark called BK Frem (formed in 1886). A real club full of traditions, but they´ve been financially unhealthy for a long time, and are now placed in the third best (maybe fourth I´m not sure) league in Denmark, so it´ll be a huge disappointment if we don´t beat them.

What's your team Jonas? I can't figure it out from the football results I found.

So I donated blood for the first time this week (was a pretty cool experience!) and I'd never known my blood type. Today I got an email from the NZ Blood Service, and my blood is metal as fuck - Type O Negative.
They'll also let me know when it gets used too.
