So that´s just great. PA is acting weird only partially showing the whole frontpage, and now I can´t log in, and it appears that a whole bunch of my older reviews have been deleted from my personal page. Holy fuck this is an amaturish platform...yeah I´m sorry but I´m a little mad today, that this has happened. Hopefully it´s just a technical issue, which will be solved but for now I´m not even able to write on the PA forum because my profile apparently needs to be activated by an email link I never receive...fuckin´ shit

That sucks Jonas. Hope it sorts itself out. Coincidentally, I was enjoying your review of Motorpsycho's Behind the Sun on PA just yesterday. Looking forward to their new one on Friday.

Sorry for my outburst the other day. I was just really frustrated. Although my PA forum account still doesn´t work, at least all my reviews have returned, and I can now post reviews again and edit my old ones.
Motorpsycho eh....it´s been a while since I´ve listened to a Motorpsycho album. Maybe I´ll slip one into my playlist in the coming weeks.

Hi Jonas! It's been 4-5 years since I last logged on here I think, busy with other hobbies, and mostly stopped listening or exploring much in the realm of metal, except in the past few months, even less most things prog related.
Started listening to a lot of grindcore favorites I hadn't heard in years over the summer and got a random urge to login here and start posting again. How are things going here?

Heard from my mom that Joe Biden may be pardoning all drug offenders who had sold marijuana. Also heard he'll be pushing marijuana to be legal on a federal level. To this I say... ...IT'S ABOUT..GOD DAMN..TIME!!!

I was completely starstruck yesterday at the local builders merchant, as suddenly Dave Ingram (Benediction, Bolt Thrower...etc.) stood there with his wife/girlfriend. Now I know he lives in Denmark, but I wasn´t prepared to actually meet him. I suddenly felt like I was 15 years old again, and I wanted to talk to him, but just couldn´t find words that wouldn´t sound ridiulous. Meeting your old heroes even in my age made me all ecstatic . I had to call my brother to share the experience as my wife and daughter just looked at me with these overbearing looks and laughed at my reactions . |

Oh yeah, but he´s a big guy. Much taller than I remember, and I just saw him with Benediction on this year´s CopenHell Festival, so I should know, but I guess beers have clouded my memory .

I went to see this lineup last night: Sepultura Sacred Reich Crowbar Great show from all three bands. It was my first time seing Sacred Reich, but it won´t be my last, if I have anything to say about it. I loved their show, which featured both old, mid-career, and new songs. The only track I really missed hearing was "Crawling".

I went to see this lineup last night: Paradise Lost Hangman´s Chair I thought the latter was a little boring, but Paradise Lost brougt a good show. I haven´t seen a Paradise Lost show since 1994, so it was nice seing them again. They only played two pre-Icon songs though, which was maybe one or two less than I expected, but the remaining songs where great too. One of the things I could have been without is their constant use of backing tracks. I realise there are a lot of keyboards/piano and even female vocals in their music, but there is just something a little dishonest about using backing tracks. I´d much rather hear a more stripped down version of a band´s music, if that´s what they can muster on stage.

Glad you had a good one Jonas, I'll be at the same show on Tuesday night. Cannot wait for Crowbar in particular. |

Went to see this lineup last night: Arch Enemy Behemoth Carcass Unto Others I unfortunately missed Unto Others, as my buddies would rather drink more beers than go to the venue early, so Carcass was the first band up for us. They delivered the best show I´ve seen from them, but they are generally not the most interesting live act IMO. Behemoth put on a huge show with customes and all, and it was a good quality show, but one day I´d like to see them at a small venue without all the customes and lightning, and hear what they actually bring. I´m not a huge fan of these big stage productions. I only saw maybe four Arch Enemy songs before we decided to go home (we primarily came for Carcass and Behemoth). They deliver a polished but also boring show, just as I remember it from the last time I saw them. It´s the same as with Behemoth...too much focus on everything else but the music...and damn what a loss to have a guitarist like Loomis playing in a band like that.

Just back from watching Opeth with Voivod down in London at the Hammersmith Apollo. What a fantastic show. One Opeth track from each album and not always the obvious one.
