Just found out that my ISP has been hacked (again), which explains the troubles I've been having this past few days.

The attacks seem designed just to create disruption.

High on Fire didn´t impress me much, which was a bit disappointing, but then it´s good that we have Meshuggah, because damn they kicked some serious ass and saved the night. Not only is my jaw still dropped to the floor as a result of their inhumanly crazy playing skills, but there was so much power and brutal grooves coming from that stage, that my body aches too. I just couldn´t stand still.

^I'd love to see Sabbath, and this tour is most likely my last chance. Sadly I don't think they're coming anywhere near by. Ouch

Went to see this lineup last night:

Kreator
Sepultura
Soilwork
Aborted

Aborted were great, Soilwork had a terrible muddy sound, which ruined the show for me, Sepultura slayed, and Kreator...well I find them boring live. This is the third time I´ve seen them in a 5 year period and they just bore me to death. It´s professional and the sound was top notch, but it´s all just so polished and calculated. They used to be one of the most Savage artists on the face of the planet, but those days are long gone. They played mostly later period material, which to an "old" fan like myself, was also a slight issue. Not that their later period material isn´t great, because that´s not the case. It´s generally really good quality thrash metal, but live they are just too polished and lifeless...and that Ventor...goddamn if he is not the most sad drummer on the metal scene. His technical skills are non existent. I counted several playing mistakes, and the man wouldn´t be able to make a song groove if his life depended on it. We left after about an hour of the show. I can´t be bothered seing them no more, but I primarely came to see Sepultura, and they delivered the goods as always.

Time to revive the metal chat thread.  I am sick of being stopped from posting mindless crap on PA because of CAPTCHA so I will renew my posting of mindless crap here on MMA.  :)

I know.  It was just wishful thinking on my part.  There was once I time back in the day where the PA shred room might flip 5 pages in 20 minutes.  And once in a while the conversation was even interesting.  LOL

Just got back from seeing Clutch and Primus, best and heaviest concert I've ever been to. Clutch was fantastic, but Primus just blew me away. There were even a few mosh pits during My Name is Mud and Jerry Was a Race Care Driver. They played a perfect setlist, great visuals, and it was just so fucking heavy. Sore all over, but that's the sign of an amazing concert.

I love my stereo...currently blasting Dragonforce....and on that note, Marc Hudson is a MUCH superior vocalist to ZP Theart.

Cool!  They just played a few miles from my house a week or two ago.  I did not know they were playing here until my co-worker mentioned getting caught in traffic by the venue and looking up on-line to see who was playing.  I saw Primus open for Rush way back in the Sailing the Seas of Cheese days.  I've always thought that they were an odd sounding band, but Les Claypool and Herb "Tim" Alexander are both excellent musicians.

Wow, Primus touring for their best album and opening for Rush? That must have been one hell of a concert!

Just did a little research.  Primus toured with Rush during the Roll the Bones tour and the Counterparts tour.  I saw Rush play with Eric Johnson the first time thru and Mr. Big the second time through on the Roll the Bones tour.  I saw them play with Primus on the Counterparts tour, which was for the Pork Soda album.  Sadly, too long ago for me to remember too many specifics, but I remember enjoying Primus quite a bit and really appreciating the bass and drum playing.
