Great festival as always. I think toilet fascilities and a couple of other fascilities had been cut Down a bit, which I hope will get back to the standard from last year Again, and the lineup could have featured a couple of more interesting artists too, but all in all another good year for Copenhell.

I think the lineup has been better before, but it was alright this year too. Maybe I just don´t think that neither Primus nor Ghost are big enough acts to headline, although Primus blew me away. Incredible perrformance.

Some superb bands there. A few of my favourites.

I take it that the Butcher Babies have dispensed with the tit tape? Cry

Well they still look like porn stars with tits that don´t know if they wanna stay inside the shirt or outside. Honestly I don´t see or hear the attraction. Really boring generic metalcore, which I´ve heard done better by many. Although I´ll probably be called a chauvenist or something similar, I´ll maintain that their biggest attraction is their looks, and their music is secondary. But hey...they were a good laugh Smile and my 17 year old nephew had BIG eyes all through the show LOL

Out of the above mentioned shows, I´d say that the following were the best:

Body Count feat Ice-T: Lots of great attitude, the sound was pretty bad, but they got the message through and their music is reasonably varied, which makes their show pretty entertaining.

Suicidal Tendencies: What a great party. Twice during the show the audience was invited on stage to party with the band, and they did. I´ll never forget people dancing and singing "I Saw Your Mommy, and Your Mommy´s Dead" with Mike Muir. Great, great show...

Morgoth: Great old school death metal. I´ve been waiting to see Morgoth, which is a personal favorite of mine, since the early nineties, and finally they were here. And they delivered a great tight and brutal show...Sold Babtismmmmmmm

At the Gates: Great tight show, and good sound, but I think their music gets a bit one-dimensional. Maybe I just don´t know their tracks well enough to tell them apart.

Code Orange: Definitely one of the greatest shows on Copenhell 2015. Great aggressive hardcore with both faster paced hardcore parts, and crushingly brutal breakdowns. Highly recommendable if they come to a town near you.

Red Fang. Damn a positive surprise there too. They delivered a powerful and organic sounding show, which never got boring. I´ll have to give them more listens.

Primus: I´ve never been able to enjoy Primus on album, and I´ve tried since the early 90s so I´ve given them a lot of chances, but seing them live gave me another perspective on their music, which might open my ears to their music on album (same experience I had when I saw Meshuggah the first time). The wizardry on that bass was jaw dropping stunning, and the drummer was insane too, while the guitarist played some weird psychadelic notes that don´t seem connected to the rest of the music. I came away thinking that these Guys must have listened to a lot of Frank Zappa.

Bloodbath. My we dream come true...and they delivered. Boy did they ever deliver. Crushingly brutal , dark and morbid...just like our momma made old school Swedish death metal back in the day. "Eaten" was of course a highlight.

Red Warszawa: Perfect way to end the festival with these Danish weirdos. It´s the 8th time I see them, and probably the best and most tight performance I´ve yet seen by them....and of course Henning got naked by the end of the show, and did the hellicopter...drunk bastard LOL

Well I wouldn't call you a chauvinist for saying it. I agree with you. I cannot stand that band. I'm sure they only got as far as they have for covering Pantera on YouTube with their tits out.

I have nothing against women in metal, but any band (men or women) that is looks over music just doesn´t cut it to my ears. Good to hear I´m not the only one with that opinion.

I'm getting nervous that people on here might start tagging me a BB fan Good luck to them if they can make a career out of it, but it's all a bit generic and mediocre for me, and their looks are fine but not my"cup of tea"

Sounds like it was one hell of a concert, many great bands.

I heard a couple songs from Butcher Babies probably a while ago, didn't think it was horrible, but definitely generic.

I have to be honest, regarding their look I see nothing wrong with it. They should be allowed to dress (or not dress as the case may be) as they like. But I do think their music is pretty boring and that they are probably getting more attention than they should because of sex appeal. But that's just my opinion. I'm sure they must have some genuine fans out there somewhere. I think there are other bands around that shamelessly use sex appeal that I actually like, such as Huntress. Though what most people don't realise with Huntress (or just ignore) is that Jill Janus changes her image with every album based on the Wiccan tradition of The Maiden, Mother and Crone. Here's an article on it, complete with each image (one for each album). The first is probably NSWF so be warned.

Long story cut short, I think sex be used effectively as part of an act but there's always got to be music to back it up. And I think Huntress make some killer heavy metal. yet they seem to get hated on just as much as Butcher Babies, if not more.

^ I knew there was a reason behind her look around the time of Spell Eater though I never actually looked up what it was about. I just thought that Spell Eater was a kickarse heavy/thrash metal record. Their second album hasn't stood the test of time for me so well, been meaning to do a review rewrite, but I still think it's pretty solid metal. I think they did a pretty good cover of Judas Priest's Running Wild too.

exactly...nothing wrong with sex appeal (be it men or women), but you gotta have the music to back it up. Otherwise you quickly turn into a novelty act, that people only come to see and not to hear.

Exactly, there's no point in having a eye-grabbing image when your music falls flat.

Music was never really about the image.

Except Marilyn Manson probably. He kinda needed the look.
