Went with Annihilator, Voivod and Anthrax closely following.

EDIT: I know I can't change my vote, but I think I should have voted Voivod instead. LOL

Haven't heard a single one of these.

Best albums of 1993 for me are Individual Though Patterns, Earth 2, Houdini, Enemy of the Sun, and Holy Mountain.

My Dying Bride. It´s my favorite MDB album. It could have been Voivod, Mercyful Fate, and maybe Cathedral. Not much else on the list makes my blood boil wildy (although there are many good albums).

Antoher fantastic year that is a bitch to figure out a top 20...

From this list I am torn between Grin, Edge of Thorns, In the Shadows, Rhymes of Lunacy and Parallel Minds. Great albums all of them and not the only great albums in that list. I particulartly applaud the inclusion of Tad Morose and esp. Morgana Lefay, who are a very dear band to me, although my favorite release from that year by ML is actually The Secret Doctrine.

I think I'll vote for the great Criss Oliva, just because his performance on that album is mindblowing, just incredible.

However, my favorite album of the year is missing from the list and it's of course the masterpiece called Individual Thought Patterns, actually my favorite Death album and in my top 10 ever.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FnMgUBZ3H9c

Second in my list would have been Heartwork, another masterpiece.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=meeyG7Wa9Uk

Third in the list would be Cynic's masterpiece, Focus.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P3XV5SeUBWE

I am also missing Gamma Ray's Insanity and Genius, absolutely stellar album.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYm8E0zUAK0

Anacrusis' Screams and Whispers, exceptional metal and extremely underrated. Just fucking amazing music. BTW, last year Kenn Nardi (Anacrusis guitarist and singer) made a comeback with a double album that was the album of the year imo...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PeJZd1ru6i8
I do not know one person who does not love the above song.

Of course Sepultura's Chaos AD, my second favorite from the band (after BtR).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQ8LkOwWfaw

Atheist - Elements. Way ahead of their time.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q0mq1_OAekA

And who can forget this awe-inspiring piece of death metal? Just huge. Morbid Angel - Covenant.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fPCNEqBwwMU

Entombed - Wolverine Blues. SO fucking COOL.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2lnBmNJgRWs

Very soft spot for Macabre's Sinister Slaughter. Has a very unique charm.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QiaB5YtlYR8

Huge fan of Angra's Angels Cry:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nn7y5ShTWWU

Also, Halford's Fight - War of Words, which I consider the best Priest-related album since Painkiller. Chock full of very catchy metal.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_Jd6lM4dzo

Speaking of Priest, this is the best album featuring the Ripper. GREAT.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T3B3Q3fykCU

Another masterpiece from that year (should have remembered it sooner): Saviour Machine's s/t debut. Eric Clayton is the MAN.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9DLwNtKUrHk

Simlarly, Skyclad's Jonah's Ark.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6msD0iyEKkE

Favorite Rage album. The Missing Link:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8cGAyIWLoww

Great underrated prog/power: Rough Silk - Roots of Hate
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VnEJxrRBFWw

K, I know this is not metal but it should appeal to all prog metal fans. Kingston Wall - II:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8uoGWL7GIkA

An honorary mention goes to Suicidal Tendencies - Still Cyco After All These Years. Best re-recording ever.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MDiF3POJdyU

I am sure I am forgetting something awesome.

hmm..can't vote here, I've not heard one of these.

Best album of 1993 for me, is I guess either Death - Individual Thought Patterns or Grave Digger - The Reaper. Like Grave Digger more so I guess I'll put an invisible vote for that.

Others:

Gamma Ray - Insanity and Genius
Immortal - Pure Holocaust
Steve Vai - Sex & Religion (Vai with a young Devin Townsend on vocals, probably my favourite by him despite being atypical of his usual work)
