a list of albums from 1980-1981
for the fun of it, pick a favorite and explain why (briefly or not Wink)

other options for those unhappy with the choices Big smile
nevertheless, you can mention other albums, who knows, I may discover something new.
I know I left some out but if this poll gets some votes and comments, I'll make a new one.

Many of my favourite albums here - the late seventies and early eighties was about the time I was getting into heavy rock and metal big time.

I've gone for Heaven & Hell, partly because I think it's a great album, but also because it was the release that rejuvinated the Sabbath brand. Ozzy had left, and Sabbath were dead - or not as it turned out. Still unmistakenly Sabbath, but avoids the pitfalls of trying to find an Osbourne sound-alike.

The choice was between Thin Lizzy and Motörhead for me. I chose Motörhead. Absolutely fantastic album featuring a badass rock´n´roll attitude and some great memorable songs too. I love Chinatown too though Clap

Lots of awesome albums. Some missing (Saxon, Angelwitch and other NWOBHM) but it's difficult as it is. I'm torn between Sabbath, Ozzy, Diamond Head and AC/DC. I'll give it to Ozzy as I've air guitarred to that one more than then others!

Which is surely the only way to be objective on the subject :-)

So many good albums here, but I'll go with Heaven and Hell which was my first Sabbath album. British Steel is a close second though.

I paused for some time, hoping to pick one from Maiden, Motorhead and Sabbath.

...but they are all as good as each other, for different reasons.

I was about to pick British Steel because that's just about the best Judas Priest album IMO but then I saw Rush on the list.

I enjoyed more the albums between 1981 and 1983, but for this list I think the album I listened to the most was Iron Maiden's debut. I liked it when I bought it in 1983 and I still like it now. Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Scorpions and a few others had some great stuff on those albums, though.
A story told that can't be real somehow must reflect the truth we feel.
