Okay, it's growing on me, a lot. Olaf still seems a bit off, but better than I initially thought, plus the songwriting is fantastic, except for the two rather average ballads

SINDROME - Resurrection: The Complete Collection cover
http://www.metalmusicarchives.com/album/sindrome/resurrection-the-complete-collection(compilation)

Fans of the more brutal part of the 80s/90s US thrash metal scene and artists like Devastation, Demolition Hammer, Gammacide, and Exhorder, should most definitely check out this compilation release by Sindrome. They only ever released two demo tapes (which are here in remastered form), but both demos are of high quality. Both when it comes to the songwriting, the musicianship and the productions, which are fully professional.

Pretty nice celtic metal album, with a bit of power metal. I love how these guys mostly use bagpipes for their folk elements.

Beautiful folk metal album that came completely out of nowhere for me.

^ I'm plesantly surprised by the new Opeth so far. I liked the last two albums but so far I prefer this.
