Finally getting to listening to this.

I like it a lot. Thumbs Up Great atmospheres and the songwriting is surprisingly developed too... even some nice guitar soloing. The production is a bit thin for my liking, but it is black metal from 1994 that we're talking about, so it's good enough. LOL Great Symphony X album too. It does little to develop their sound IMO, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.


I was actually talking about the Warlord EP, but that black metal album sounds interesting so I'll have to check it out. LOL I was interrupted in my listening for the Symphony X album as the phone rang, but I'm enjoying it so far! Thumbs Up

Oops! LOL The Warlord EP is great. It would've benefited from a better production IMO, but it's an extremely unique release given that it came out in 1983. I can't think of another heavy metal album from back then with as many flirtations with progressive and power metal... cool stuff. Thumbs Up

He he I use some Space in my review describing that track. I don´t find it as awful as you do, but it´s certainly misplaced on the album.

This was my first listen to the band, and I loved it. However, I also didn't like 31 Flavors. While I like the message it's saying, it really doesn't fit on the album or fit my tastes.

I remember during the Dahmer trial actually seeing a news story about one of the guys in the band going along to the trial every day and taking notes. There was the usual moral outrage bullshit at someone finding such a thing entertaining. That was my first listen to that album. It's quite unique as far as concept albums go!Big smile
