Earlier:
http://www.metalmusicarchives.com/album/annihilator/refresh-the-demon Doesn't seem to be a very highly regarded annihilator album looking at the RYM averages, though on first impression I enjoyed this a little more than the previous one. Now: http://www.metalmusicarchives.com/album/annihilator/alice-in-hell I just picked this one up on CD off of ebay. The first two albums have put me on something of a thrash kick, but their following records overall I'm finding rather bland so far.

Just started track 7. It's been pretty good so far, and if anything even more experimental than Stomp 442 (the last song I heard was basically a southern rock song, and it was actually really cool.)

Was that Toast To The Extras? Love that song, along with Crush and Inside Out. Inside Out has a brilliant video, based on a classic Twilight Zone episode. (Sound quality not great, but you get the idea) |

^It's been awhile since I've listened to that album, although I listen to and love Crush a lot. Now: I Have the Body of John Wilkes Booth

Played this one earlier while in the car. Really digging it but I think Never, Neverland is slightly stronger.

I'm in a thrash phase now because of those Annihilator albums:

^ I enjoyed Set the World on Fire when I was checking it out so I'm definitely going to look up their first two soon. They're one band I've always ignored for some reason.

I've found everything from Set the World on Fire onwards to be quite bland so far in comparison to their first two albums. I might have enjoyed them more if I hadn't started from Alice in Hell I guess, but that and Never, Neverland set a real high standard.

http://www.metalmusicarchives.com/album/metallica/master-of-puppets Haven't spun this in a while. One of my first thrash albums. My experience of thrash for quite a while began with and ended with Metallica. I've heard a lot more bands now, but I realised tonight that I only have albums by nine thrash bands in my CD collection (Annihilator being the ninth). And one of those is a slipcase freebie from Metal Hammer that I don't think I've ever listened to (I should). I think I need to diversify my collection in this genre.

^I´ve listened to thrash metal since the late 80s/early 90s and it´s one of my favorite genres. Personally I like the semi- tech death/thrash artists the most, but there are quite a few sub genres/directions in the genre that are interesting. Loads of clones and followers too of course. Some good and some bad.

Really liked the songs on this one. Easily their most pure thrash album I've heard. If the production was better, I'd probably give it 4.5, but as it stands it and Rust in Peace are my favorites so far.
