 Stomp 442

This should not disappoint, especially if you compare it to some of the weaker Megadeth and Metallica albums. I've never understood why it was so badly received. It probably didn't get the push it deserved, and this sort of metal was not popular at the time, but still...

Stomp 442 is one of my favorite Bush-era Anthrax albums. I don't understand the poor reception either, 'Random Acts of Senseless Violence' is one hell of an opening track.

Interested to hear that album, then. I think the best way to do this is alternate one album per band until I run out of albums, so I'll get to it after an album each from Megadeth and Slayer.

Speaking of which:

I figure this or Supercollider will be the worst album I listen to during this run (if I don't skip that one altogether, which I just might), so I may as well get it out of the way quickly.

Will likely do Diabolous in Musica next, since it seems to be the worst regarded Slayer album. Things can only go uphill from there, I'm sure.

Diabolus In Musica is infinitely better than Risk. Risk is one of the worst albums recorded by any band, anywhere, ever. Even St. Anger is better.

Now playing: Random stuff - The Vandals - I Know, Huh.

I'd probably put it just ahead of Super Collider and behind Th1rt3en, as far as lame Megadeth albums go.

This one was frustrating. I find about half of it is pretty good, but the other half is really bad. Similar to Repentless in its inconsistency, though on that album I found the good outweighed the bad, where on this album it's pretty much dead even. It was in fact better than Risk, though.

Now for a brief break from weaker albums for something I know I like:

АСПИД - Extravasation cover

Absolutely brilliant tech thrash. I´m listening to the original version with Russian lyrics, and it kicks ass big time. They recorded English lyrics for a 2007 re-release, but I haven´t heard that version. Fans of artitsts like early Invocator and Vektor should have a blast with this one.

I never thought Risk was as bad as many people think. In fact I find it relatively enjoyable. Much better than it´s direct predecessor, which I personally think is their worst release.

Diabolus is pretty good too in my book...

That's a way trippy and cool album cover. This is a band i've been wanting to check out so thanks for putting on my radar again :)

^Yeah, I ended up liking the album much more than expected. Compared to some of the weaker albums from other big four thrash bands, the heavy criticism against that album doesn't make much sense to me.

This was never one of my favorite classic thrash albums, though I did like it more this time than I remembered, and it is definitely a great album. I think Megadeth is probably just going to end up as my least favorite of the big four.

This one, on the other hand, has always been one of my favorites, along with Seasons in the Abyss.

^Yeah, "Stomp 442" is pretty great. It seems like the Bush-era as a whole gets quite a bit of criticism. I love all of Anthrax's albums, but they are one of my favorite bands.

Now:

Still just as addicting as my first listen.

This one's my favorite from them, so far, which makes sense because I think it is considered their best. It's interesting to hear how different they sounded with Joey Belladonna back then, compared to on Worship Music. Though that one was good as well, and I really like Evil Twin from their upcoming album.

Glad you liked it. I love "Nothing", and got an Australasian EP version of it, but I really can't think of anything on that album I don't like.

Now playing:
