I've been listening to a podcast on Black Sabbath, and it got me in the mood.

I think for fun I'm going to try a discography run for all of the "big four" thrash bands simultaneously, maybe with Overkill mixed in as well, since I've long wanted to go through all their albums as well. It will be done over a long period and in a totally random order, of whatever album I feel like listening to at the time. As for previous experience, I've heard all Metallica albums, a few each from Megadeth and Slayer, and just this one from Anthrax.  Oh, and St. Anger and Lulu are likely getting skipped, because they're just too painful to ever revisit. Load and Reload are in, though, and I've never heard Risk or Stomp 442 before, so they have to be in as well.

This one is quite good, definitely better than most newer albums by the other big four bands.

I actually kinda like this one, and always did, even though it's a big step down from their previous work. It still has many songs I like, and honestly, if about 3-4 tracks were cut, I'd give it 4 stars. I still consider it and Reload to be way better than their two trainwreck albums, and most of the later Megadeth albums, at least.

^I like Load and Reload too, 'King Nothing', 'Bleeding Me', and 'Thorn Within' are some of my favorites from Load.

This should not disappoint, especially if you compare it to some of the weaker Megadeth and Metallica albums. I've never understood why it was so badly received. It probably didn't get the push it deserved, and this sort of metal was not popular at the time, but still...

Stomp 442 is one of my favorite Bush-era Anthrax albums. I don't understand the poor reception either, 'Random Acts of Senseless Violence' is one hell of an opening track.
