BODY COUNT - Manslaughter cover
http://www.metalmusicarchives.com/album/body-count/manslaughter

This one is actually pretty good. Their best since the debut. I like the re-recording of "99 Problems", which is of course much heavier and nastier than the boring and radio friendly Jay-Z version (which this one is more or less recorded as a response to).

CROWPATH - Son of Sulphur cover

Crowpath - one of my favourite math-grind albums.

I'd actually say the mathcore part of this band was stronger than the grindcore. Any thoughts (assuming anyone cares LOL)?

I like them too. I think I´ve written a review of the debut album here on MMA. Son of Sulphur is stronger though. Really intense music.

...and have the lyric sheet at hand too. Son of Sulphur is a concept album about a pyromaniac. Really unpleasant story that one...

Outre - Ghost Chants

Very reminiscent of Deathspell Omega, though not as enjoyable.

EDIT: I take what I said back, this is utterly incredible.

I´m a huge Type O Negative fan and have been since I heard Bloody Kisses when it came out. I had a period where I didn´t listen to them as much as I used to, but in the last couple of years I´ve rediscovered them and I really appreciate their Unique sound Again. They are one of those rare acts who are truly original sounding, although there are obvious Black Sabbath, Sister of Mercy and Beatles influences in their music. The outcome is still Unique though.

I agree, there is something special about their sound, I can't put my finger on what that is though.  Great band and Pete Steels death was a great loss.

Dawn of Azazel - Sedition

Some good old New Zealand Death Metal.  We have had really good bands coming out on the Death Metal scene lately.

Yeah great loss indeed, but he had been plagued by inner demons and alcohol and drug abuse since the mid-nineties, and I guess his body just gave in. As far as I know it wasn´t an overdose though (he was supposedly clean in the period before he died), but a Heart attack.

Some of the Things which made Type O Negative special in my book are Peter´s voice, Josh Silver´s productions and a perfect combination of biting sarcasm and Deep melancholy. Also the combination of doom, goth, and hardcore. Ýou don´t hear that everyday.

Yup, I heard it was a heart attack too.  Good description there about their music.

Metallica - No Life 'Til Leather

I have never heard these versions before....James' voice really took me aback.
