Straight into round 2! First impressions very good! I was a little worried about comments I've seen online about the production, especially after listening to the singles, but the CD sounds just fine to me.

Even on Spotify, I'm not having any issues with the production whatsoever. Sounds pretty much the same as any of their other albums produced by Kevin Shirley, imo. It really feels like me and most RYMers (aside from a certain power metalhead) are hearing a different album, because comments there are overwhelmingly negative, saying it's one of their worst, where I'm absolutely in love with it.
To be fair, on my end this does happen every time they release an album, so the test will be seeing how it holds up over time (The Final Frontier is an example of one where my opinion slid off just a bit), but I have a pretty strong feeling this one won't drop off at all.

Yeah, just finished my second spin and it sounds about how I'd expect an Iron Maiden album to sound in 2021.
I've long come to the conclusion that most RYM'ers hate everything, but in this case I agree, they seem to be hearing a completely different album.

Personally I´ve never enjoyed Kevin Shirley´s sound productions on Maiden´s albums. I don´t think he manages to make the music shine like Martin Birch was able to. I´m not counting on this one being any different. I´ve always wondered why they didn´t change producer after Dickinson´s first comebackalbum . Try something new and fresh, instead of Shirley. Oh well at least they didn´t use Roy Z, who managed to ruin a couple of Dickinson solo albums. That doens´t mean I don´t enjoy the Shirley produced Maiden albums, but I´m sure my enjoyment of the music would have been better with different production choices.

I´m not a huge fan of Dark Angel in general, but this album kicks some serious ass. I love it.

As far as I remeber this one is the third Canterbury influenced Camel album, and while there are some great music here, it doesn´t quite reach the heights of its two direct predecessors. Camel is hit an miss for me anyways, so my opinion is probably not that valid.
