can you restate that as obnoxious as you can so that people understand how much that movie sucked?

I also found it the most messy chapter of all of them.

![]() Finally reaching the end and personally I think it's an okay movie, but it is the one that's mostly hurt by the problems present in the entire trilogy and also had to overcome Carrie Fisher's sudden death. The biggest problem of this movie is basically that it's obvious that Abrams and all the suits at Disney sat down and said: Okay, how the fuck do we end this thing? And somehow they ended up on a character that was killed off in 1983. I refuse to believe that was the plan all along. It's really just the messiest Star Wars movie ever made, shows off the lack of a real long term plan when they decided that Episode VII, which is a contender for the most unnecessary sequel of all time, was happening. They somehow managed to screw over every character in this trilogy, old and new. Almost every beloved character from the original trilogy ends up dead by the end of this one. Those that don't are regulated to supporting roles including Lando, who doesn't even show up again until this last film. So many plot threads are introduced, then never mentioned again, in all three movies. I've felt for a while that in Star Wars that the Jedi and the Sith both had the wrong idea when it came to the Force. They were two opposite extremes. Bringing 'balance', as Anakin was supposed to be the chosen one to do, surely should have been someone controlled both without be consumed by the dark or blinded by the light. Rey, in this trilogy, should have been the one to finally do that.

![]() It does depend on how what will only be my second viewing of The Rise of Skywalker goes, but I'm quietly confident that this is actually the best movie of the sequel trilogy. It still has some obvious re-hash from the original trilogy, but I think it still manages to work as its own thing. It's only got better with re-watches, unlike The Force Awakens.

![]() It's a very entertaining movie, but accusations of a rehash are not exaggerated. It's biggest issue, true of the entire sequel trilogy though, is how it treats long beloved characters who had a satisfactory end in the original trilogy. ![]() This is now the longest movie I have ever watched, at over 7 hours long. This is definitely not a film for everyone. I, personally, enjoyed it and found it quite mesmerising, though it nearly lost me during a rather infamous scene involving a cat being tortured and poisoned to death, which although simulated, is presented extremely realistically and had me really hating the character who was performing these acts, although it turned devastating for another reason come to the conclusion of that chapter. This was the most difficult thing to watch that I've seen for over a year or more.

And there are toon murders, and some very adult jokes... It really wasn't aimed at families when it was released.

![]() Never seen this before. Quite amusing, although I'm left unsure just who this movie is supposed to be for. Most of the time it seems like the fun, family fare that it looks like on the tin... ...But then there's Jessica Rabbit. ![]() Objectively it probably is the weakest of the original trilogy, but I don't see this as having the kind of significant problems of the prequels and sequels. I still kind of wish this was the end point of the Skywalker Saga because even though I do enjoy the sequels, they do kind of take a massive shit on the ending of this.

I just finished The Mandalorian. It was excellent.
![]() As a kid, I was always the biggest fan of Return of the Jedi, but I think I do have to acknowledge that Empire is the pinnacle of Star Wars now.

![]() Another one that for some reason I never re-watched until now. It holds up a bit better than Solo and the direct lead in to the original movie is pretty great. [/QUOTE]
Every time I´ve watched this it gets better. I think it´s the best Star Wars movie after the original three. Great apocalyptic ending to the movie too. Wow it´s such a powerful (and sad/romantic) moment. If you haven´t yet I strongly suggest that you watch The Mandalorian TV-series. Now that´s great Star Wars entertainment.

Not sure what else I can say, that hasn't been said many times over by many people since it's release. Been a while since I last saw it, but it loses nothing.

![]() Only the second time I've watched this one and personally I didn't think it held up as well as I'd expected. Leaves a lot of plot strands hanging which I'm not sure we're going to see resolved now.

![]() I mostly liked this. Tom Cruise is too small to be a proper Reacher, but for probably the first 3/4 of the film he projects a proper Reacher vibe. Then inexplicably he starts channeling that lame arsed character from the Mission Impossible movies (can't remember, and hate those movies, so don't care), before a final flick back to Reacherisms. Loved the action sequences, which seem so plausible when Lee Child writes them, but are so utterly ridiculous when put on screen. And Rosamund Pike seemed to be just phoning in her performance.

I liked this one as well, an improvement on the previous Bond movie, the messy and ridiculous Octopussy.

![]() Always felt with this one that they really didn't know how to kill Padme off since the original trilogy established that she is dead. Not sure how they managed to fuck her death up so much though: Return of the Jedi pointedly established that Leia remembers a little bit about her real mother. Even with plot holes aside, her death really is dumb as fuck. Otherwise this movie is pretty great with its action sequences and being packed full of lightsaber duels. Next up, the Star Wars Stories movies and then onto the true classics.

It's my favourite of the prequels too. I think it has more iconic scenes in it than the others. Whatever else people might think of the movie, the pod race holds up against any action sequence anywhere in the entire franchise.
