I mean, I know it's prog, but when I'm constantly checking to see what song I'm on, because it keeps changing that much and seems so incoherent, that's never a good sign.

After three listens, and it really isn't much of a grower at all, sadly. It's not outright bad, or anything, but it feels lacking compared to their past albums. It's not as quirky or epic, instead just being heavy and technical to a fault, to a point where that particular 12 minute track gets completely lost in its showiness, with the song itself completely disappearing. I've seen that complaint used against DT a lot, but I've never had as much trouble getting into any of their songs as I do with some of the songs on this. It's still good overall, but by Haken standards, it's weak.
